Along with this, the External Affairs Minister appreciated all the parties for their unanimous support. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was also present in this meeting. According to sources in the media report, Rahul Gandhi asked what the government’s short-term and long-term strategy was to deal with the diplomatic fallout of the change of power in Dhaka. The Foreign Minister also mentioned the activities of Pakistani diplomats in this meeting.

According to reports, the Congress leader also asked whether any foreign power, particularly Pakistan, could have played a role in the dramatic developments in Dhaka over the past few weeks that led to Hasina’s ouster. The Center replied that it is looking into this aspect.

A source also said the government said a Pakistani diplomat was constantly changing his social media display picture to reflect the violent protest situation in Bangladesh. The Center said it is investigating whether this points to something bigger. Rahul Gandhi also questioned whether India anticipated a dramatic turnaround in Bangladesh. To which the foreign minister replied that India is monitoring the situation.

Hasina arrived in India on Monday night in a Bangladesh Air Force C-130J military aircraft. It is being said that he plans to move to London. Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security on Monday.
