Two more children died of suspected Chandipura virus in Vadodara, 9 more children under treatment at Sayaji Hospital
The case of Chandipura virus is still being observed in Vadodara. Two more children have died in Vadodara due to suspected Chandipura virus. Both the children were undergoing treatment at Sayaji Hospital. However, the Chandipura virus reports of both the deceased children are still pending.
A two-year-old child of Ghoghamba in Panchmahal has died of suspected Chandipura virus. A ten-year-old girl from Kotali village of Panchmahal has died. A total of 21 children have died during treatment in Sayaji Hospital so far. In the last 24 hours, one more child has been infected with the suspected Chandipura virus. At present, nine children are under treatment at Sayaji Hospital.
Symptoms of Chandipura virus
The first effect of this virus is fever. After this flu-like symptoms start appearing in the body. In some cases, swelling of the brain may occur. This causes swelling which can be fatal. This virus is spread by mosquitoes and insects. The risk of spreading this fever increases during the rainy season.
Ways to protect children from it
Keep your surroundings clean, do not allow water to accumulate, stay away from mosquitoes and earthworms and flies, should wear full sleeve clothes.
