Hezbollah attacked Israel with rockets, fired 70 rockets
Beirut: Lebanese militant group Hezbollah has said it has attacked Israel with rockets in response to airstrikes on southern Lebanon. “In response to the attack targeting Chama and the martyrdom of several civilians, Islamic resistance fighters today bombarded enemy army positions in the western Galilee with rockets,” Hezbollah said in a statement on Thursday.
70 rockets fired at Israel
According to a report by Xinhua news agency, Hezbollah also said it also attacked Jal al-Alam with rockets. Lebanese military sources told the news agency that the Lebanese army monitored the firing of about 70 rockets in two separate batches at Israel, and some of them were intercepted by the Israeli Iron Dome missile defense system.
What did Israeli TV give on the attack
Israeli state TV channel Kan reported that the rockets were fired towards the western Galilee, of which 15 were intercepted and the rest fell in empty areas. No injuries were reported. This latest attack comes amid growing tensions between Hezbollah and Israel after the Israeli attack on Beirut’s southern suburb Dahieh on Tuesday, in which Hezbollah’s top military commander Fouad Shokor was killed.
Hezbollah had threatened
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah had threatened to respond to the Israeli attack at the appropriate time and place. On the other hand, the Israeli army has bombed an apartment block in Gaza city, in which the number of people killed has not been revealed. Sources in the Palestine Red Crescent Society said that several bodies have been pulled out from the rubble of the apartment, which belonged to the Abu Hashem family and was located on Al-Jala Street in Gaza city.
